Warm maple syrup is poured on fresh snow in little rows. The idea is to let the liquid syrup set a bit in the snow then to roll it around a popsicle stick and enjoy like a lollipop. No Carnaval is complete without it!
Bonhomme de neige fondu (Melted Snowman)
I made a little snowman, I made him just like that. The sun came out and melted him, and now my snowman is flat!
The Chem Guys!
Thank You to the University of Lethbridge for sparking the students' interest in Science!
L'hiver
Maybe it is the cold weather, or more specifically avoiding the wind, but for one reason or another our class is very crafty in the winter!

Wet felting
Last week we had the wonderful opportunity to take part in a wet felting workshop incorporating mixing coloured wool as part of our colour unit in science. Ashley Markus took us through the process of mixing wool using a carding machine. Carding is a mechanical process that disentangles, cleans and intermixes fibres. After mixing and creating our battings the students then rolled a small amount of wool dipped into soapy water in the palms their hands to create small felted balls. We had a blast and I hope families enjoyed their creations! Thank you, Ashley, for the wonderful workshop and for making science and art so inspiring for the students!

We celebrated the fall season with this adorable scarecrow craft!
